YSC: On 16 th October 2022, Dr. Qader Saleem from the Yezidi Studies Center visited the offices of Prof. Dr. Ali Tatar, governor of Duhok Governorate and Berivan Saleem, deputy chairman of Duhok P.C. in Iraqi Kurdistan Region. The Yezidi Studies Center was established in September 2022 with the goal of enhancing scientific and academic research on the Yezidi community. During the formal visit, Dr. Qader Saleem introduced the center and its current activities and future projects. The governor, Dr. Tatar and the deputy chairman, Ms. Saleem discussed the necessity of establishing such a center in light of the ongoing efforts to preserving and documenting Yezidi culture and heritage. For his part, Dr. Tatar stated that such an academic center is a fundamental step towards the formation of a scientific acquisition of knowledge and important tool for the self-representation of the Yezidi community in Germany, Iraq and other countries. He emphasized his support for the center´s work by facilitating research procedures and other activities particularly in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq wishing the center success for their important work.
